**Pawsh Paws Mobile Spa: Day 1 - The Road, The Rides & The Rescues**
Share
Well, folks, it's official. I’ve officially hit the road with Pawsh Paws Mobile Spa! And let me tell you, it was a day full of adventure, learning curves, and a few *interesting* encounters with frozen water and malfunctioning equipment. If you’re ready to hear how it all went down, buckle up—because it was a ride (literally and figuratively).
**First Lesson: Propane Tank Drama**
So, the first stop on my journey was a visit to McLarens to get my propane tank filled. Easy, right? WRONG. I’m new to this mobile life, and let me just say, McLarens were *the best* about helping me figure it out. Seriously, they should hand out medals for their kindness. After some confused glances, a couple of phone calls to the propane experts (i.e. Google), and what I can only assume was a mild panic attack, we got that tank filled up. I will absolutely be coming back every time. Highly recommend, 10/10, will trust them with my gas again.
**Water Woes: Frozen, Not Fabulous**
So, then things got a little chilly. And by chilly, I mean *the water froze*. You see, the water tank in my van didn’t quite take to the whole “winter weather” thing. Yeah. So there I was, ready to get my first official grooming session underway, only to discover that I had no water to bathe the dog with. Cue full-blown panic.
I did what anyone in my position would do—I called my mom. Classic. She came to the rescue with eight gallons of water, and I’m not going to lie, I felt like a hero when I managed to *finally* get things up and running. Honestly, I may have a future in “water logistics.”
**First Grooming Session: Two Hours of “Let’s Do This!”**
After that little hiccup, I went full steam ahead into my first groom. Two hours later (yes, two), I had one very clean, very pampered pup, and I was feeling pretty proud of myself. There may have been a few moments where I doubted my ability to *actually* become a mobile groomer, but in the end, I was a success. That fur was shiny, the dog was happy, and I only shed a few tears (of joy, obviously).
**More Challenges: The Water Pump Saga**
Just as I thought I was *finally* going to head home and collapse into bed, fate had other plans. I finished up my last dog of the day and started the drive back, only to discover—*you guessed it*—my water pump had a crack in it. Are you kidding me? It’s like the universe was saying, “Oh, you think you’re done? Think again.”
But, no fear—I got my trusty tools and YouTube at the ready, and with a little (okay, a LOT of) praying to the doggie gods, I was able to patch it up long enough to finish the day. Honestly, if anyone had told me I’d become a plumber on my first day, I would’ve said they were crazy. But here we are.
**The Victory Lap**
Finally, I winterized the van for the night (because apparently, that’s what real grown-ups do), cleaned the inside, and collapsed into my chair feeling *so* accomplished. I was exhausted, I was covered in dog hair, and I was already planning tomorrow’s adventure.
If today was any indication, this is going to be a wild ride—and I’m all in. So here’s to more propane tank fills, water rescue missions, and a whole lot of doggie love. Bring on Day 2. I’m ready for whatever it throws at me.
Stay tuned for more updates from the Pawsh Paws Mobile Spa—where the pups get pampered, and the groomer gets an education in mechanics (and maybe a new toolbox).
